Saw Albert lee for the second time last night at the BB...what a great act.
Lots of changes of style and tempo, fantastic band, fantastic player and singing.
As enjoyable as any band I\'ve ever seen and far fun than seeing Santana at the O2 recently.
You have plenty of good bands at the BB but Albert tops them all (in my opinion).

Thanks Pete for bringing The Billy Walton Band over to The Beaverwood on the 6/11/08. They were truly stunning and I urge anyone reading this not to miss this group at any cost even if you have to rob yer granny for the admission! Billy is without doubt one of the most amazing guitarists I've ever had the pleasure of witnessing backed by a very tight bass and drum unit as well as being really amiable guys to talk to as well.Go see them before they're selling out The Shepherds Bush Empire. So looking forward to them coming back over again

Hi Pete,
10 out of 10 for the Billy Walton band at the Beaverwood, even if Billy’s amp was turned up to 12!!!
Manti were also very good Classic Rock band and worth considering for a longer slot next time you're looking to fill a gap in your gig list.

Hey Mate,
That was truly fab. Well done for getting Pat Travers to play The Real Music Club. But it surprised me actually that a guy as good as him and with a long heritage and a red hot band backing him up played an intimate gig in Whetstone as a final date in London of a long tour. I thought he would have played somewhere more central but hey, I have no complaints \'cos it was a blinding pants-on-fire gig. Flamboyant bass, big-hit drums and guitar work to boggle your mind.
Sensational gig!

Very Happy Devon Allman...considering the fact they were at the end of a longish tour and very tired I thought it was an excellent gig....very pro.
Reminded me of the early days at Jack Beards when a little known Bonamassa played to us with about the same ammount of people present.
For me when the venues are that small and intimate then the artist performs better because they have to.
Well done again Pete for bringing these acts here.

Cool Welcome everyone to the Boom Boom Club this Friday 3rd October and I am aiming this at anybody that has not seen "THE MODS" before. We cover songs from that Golden Era from 1964 - 1970. The variety of bands we cover is unmatched by any other tribute act. The musicians in the band have played in Queen, Gillan, Marillion, Spear of Destiny, Joan Armourtrading Band, Paul Young Band, Mike Oldfield Band, Bonzo Dog Doo dah Band,
Tina Turners Band, Mr Big, Voyager and many more. The Bands we cover are The Who (Nobody plays it better) The Kinks The Pretty Things The Yardbirds The Small Faces Spencer Davis The Doors Hendrix SAHB even Led Zeppelin The Easybeats Desmond Dekker and many more. Now we just play these songs with World Class musicianship, attitude and 500% passion. If you love Walter Trout then come along and watch Steve Byrd, If you love John Entwhistle come along and watch Steve Barnacle, If you love Keith Emerson come along and watch Mickey Simmonds, and if you love John Bonham come along and watch Johnny Marter, which leaves me...Johnny Warman and there ain't nobody to compare me with !!! What I guarantee you is the most committed and totally passionate bunch of players with your maximum entertainment in mind. I know this will be the gig of the year and we hope to see and welcome a whole new bunch of followers to come and join The Mods Army this Friday !!!

Dear Pete Feenstra music Fans,
The Mods are back !!! Last date before Christmas
Mods vs Rockers ...An Encore ....A slight return as Jimi Hendrix said !!! Due to unseen circumstances we have been asked to fill a date for Pete Feenstra the Ultimate Promoter at the fantastic Boom Boom Club on October 3rd 2008
If you were there recently don't worry there will be even more new material and we will start at 9pm to give you guys a full 2 hours music. Please spread the word as it would be great to actually sell the gig out for Pete !! Also
an even more special gig a week later....

Definitely the last date before Christmas !!!
"GARY GRAINGER and THE MODS" a "Who Experience" at
The Real Music Club Whetstone October 10th. 2008 Gary Grainger is probably one of the greatest English guitarists and as Zak Starkey said to me once also "One of the best in the World !!"
Gary spent many years with Rod Stewart in his band and also co writing such huge hits "Hot Legs" "Im only Joking" and "Passion" and many more. So at this gig you will hear The Who like nobody else plays it especially as Gary just depped for Pete Townsend in Canada !!! plus Kinks, Cream, Joe Walsh, The Faces and other Rolling Stones classics. We will be playing "Stay with me" especially for the best rock audience in town.

Kindest Regards, and hope to see loads of you there please, as these line ups do not happen that often !!!

Venue : Beaverwood and the Zoom at the Moon

Dear Pete,
Just wanted to say what a fantastic night it was for us at the Beaverwood Club. I said 6 months ago that you had found another winner of a gig when that was our first time there. So 6 months on and to a much bigger crowd and the band being six months tighter with loads of new songs, it was all set for a performance that was filled with mind blowing individual performances in every department. The crowd were brilliant both in their participation when asked for, and applause in recognition of fantastic solos. It is such a pleasure to play for your audiences who really are true afficionados and know what they want
and who respond in all the right places. We just played at the Harley Davidson Weekender at Bisley where the band stepped up another notch and touched thousands of new supporters. We just keep getting better and better and we are really looking forward to our return to Zoom at the Moon in Herne Hill on August 16th where you can also get great pizzas !!! and our "Mods and Rockers Gig at the Boom Boom Club on Friday the 22nd August. Now I urge you to come and see this band if you haven't before as it is a celebration of all Sixties Mod material from 1964 - 1970 but there are exceptions as we throw in some heavier stuff from Zeppelin and we have a lot of new stuff lined up for the Boom Boom. We are without doubt the hardest working band on Petes circuit and by that I mean we put 500% into every gig. Tickets for the 22nd are going fast as there is a lot of interest in this gig so please order early !!! We look forward to seeing you all at these gigs and once again a huge Thank You to Pete for making it all happen.

I dont think I have witnessed a performance quite like that before in my entire life, especially as they were literally melting before my eyes. They worked so hard and really got the crowd going. Different guiatr player but he was solid and it did not affect the overall show.Sax player was mindblowing and to be honest the whole band are mindblowing and Johnny the singer is a great frontman. JOHN O'LEARY BAND 11-Jul-08
What an uplifting experience! As is always the case, John assembled a dream band for our entertainment, and they delivered 100%. Jules's cool and unassuming guitar, which soared to exhilarating crescendos and fabulous slide work; Jools's brilliant keyboards providing an excellent accompaniment and several dazzling solos; Roger's amazing six-string bass which at times sounded like a sultry lead guitar; and Joachim's power-house drums. John had apologised for having nearly lost his voice, but his harp playing was brilliant as usual. Lorna was drafted in for vocals on some numbers, which was an unexpected treat, and as the gig evolved, John's voice got stronger and there were some great duets between him and Lorna.
The music was amazing. It's brilliant to see such craftsmen working together to create something new and exciting when they get together - they all work in different bands so had a system of nods and cues to keep it all together, which worked exceptionally well with quiet subtlety increasing to wailing hard rock.
Fantastic - you really should not miss this band when they play at a venue near you!

Also quite surprised that they were brave enough to slip a couple of lesser known Bon Scott-era songs into the set "Down Payment Blues" & "Cold Hearted Man" from the Powerage album. Brought my brother and his mate down and they absolutely loved it!

just to say that Imagine The Beatles in Crouch End were absolutely amazing. They really came across very professional and were spot on musically and visually. It would be difficult to get any better Beatles tribute than them.

Great gig with Imagine The Beatles at the Music Palace Pete, thanks!
Please let me know when they are next on – especially if they are going to do the later stuff. The Mods seem right up my street too so I would definitely be interested in seeing them. Lovely venue. Thanks again.

Once again you have provided a gig that just blew me away, what a fantastic and inspired guitarist Chris Duarte is, and the rest of the band are certainly no slouches either, superb bass playing from Joseph patrick Moore. Please bring Chris back as soon as you can!

Thanks Pete.

I have waited a good number of years to see the great Chris Duarte and once again you come up trumps and give me and fellow blues fans the opportunity to experience great music on our doorsteps.

I was not disappointed and last night was magic. Firstly the Matt Bullard Band warmed us all up nicely for what can only be described as, in your words, a mesmerising experience.

Keep surprising us and I do hope you can use your influence to bring the great man back again in the not too distant future.

Hi Pete,
Just wanted to say that last nights Imagine The Beatles was a brilliant gig at the Music Palace. They sounded good and looked like they were enjoying playing.
The Music Palace is a very good venue and the crowd all joined in and made a
friendly party atmosphere.
Hope to see them again and will visit the venue again.

A great night at the Beaverwood last night with Martin Turner's Wishbone Ash. A nice little venue and right on my doorstep, with the promise of more gigs to come! To see Argus performed live in its entirety is the fulfillment of an ages old desire for me, so you'll perhaps forgive a 50 something music fan a few tears of utter joy as the band reached the crescendo of Throw Down the Sword, peformed brilliantly by all and all credit to you for bring this talented band to this neck of the woods

Hi Pete,
many thanks for your email.
It was nice talking to you at the MAN concert.
It was only later that I realised that we didn't have
a beer together. Anyway, the concert was fantastic
and it was good to see so many people attending -
you really did a great job promoting the concert, man!
I had a great time and it was nice of you introducing me
to all these people. After the concert I even had the opportunity
to have a long talk with my hero Phil Ryan (not just one of Britain's
finest keyboarders in rock music, maybe the best of them all).
On Wednesday I took the coach to Wolverhampton where MAN
played another gig. Great too, that was, but unfortunately only
one encore and no Spunk Rock.
Anyway, the band is in such great shape with Phil having rejoined
that I do believe I'll be back in the UK to see them on their next tour
and then I'll definitely see them again.

Bye for now,
Mathias

Hello Pete,
I just had to send a THANK YOU mail after the brilliant Man gig at Herne Hill last night, that was the best I have seen them play so far (and that includes two 100 club gigs), it may have had something to do with Wales winning the grand slam at rugby, as most sheep worriers are very passionate about their rugby, I have a Welsh mate in Australia who has been creaming himself over it!!!
It's odd but after the Green Man I had kind of got out of the habit of seeing live music, and have not bothered for nearly a year, except for the odd foray to the Boom Boom, that is until Amen corner at Beaverwood last week and now the excellent Man and I hope Rolling Stoned on Thursday and maybe even sinner boy the week after

Last night was a fabulous success. Didn't get off to the most promising of starts with the band's gear turning up late but the sound engineer deserves a lot of praise for getting everything up and running in no time.

Oli Brown, however, was completely cool as usual and nothing seems to worry the kid. I am convinced that he improves every time we see him and he is going to be mega in time. Can't wait to see him for the long awaited album launch and it will be interesting to see who the guests are!!! I enjoyed it when he jammed with Walter Trout and he didn't disappoint when Buddy invited him to do the same.

I have seen Buddy on a number of occasions with John Mayall but it was great to see the great man up close and personal. He had a great band and he performed brilliantly. Like most bands that play the Boom Boom you got the feeling that he thoroughly enjoyed himself.

Keep up the excellent work and we will see you soon.

Hi Darren,

I've got a pretty long way to drive and so I just wanted to know how long Jeff is on stage. I'm afraid I could be disappointed if it's a rather short set.
How long do you think he was on stage? About 45 minutes? Or longer?
Thank you for your answers!

PS: I registered at the JFF-Forum but it takes quite a long time till they activate the account there.

Hi Pete,

Just wanted to express my thanks for the wonderful Martin Turner's Wishbone Ash gig last Friday. This was the fifth time I've seen MTWA and they continue to go from strength to strength. The second Argus set was a sheer triumph in execution, delivery and also in the way that it was received by the rabid capacity audience. The volume and enthusiasm of the cheers quite surprised me!

I'm sorry Andreas I can't remember either the setlist or the number of songs that Jeff performed with Tempestt as I'm still not that familiar with his solo material. He was on stage for a good amount of time however. Why not just wait to be surprised at the upcoming gig? Have you tried asking your questions on the JSS forum at all?

Solid metal support from Crimes Of Passion then excellent set from Tempestt and then closing set with JSS & Tempestt together. Deep Purple's Burn (played as an encore) was hot enough to strip paint off the walls...

Those guys are awesome – everything they do is touched with gold. I was in heaven and wish they could have carried on all night! Very Happy Pete, I would just like to say what a fantastic set The Mods played last Friday at the Boom Boom, in the style of the guy on Masterchef, 'this band just gets better'. I thought it was the best set and best played Mods gig I have seen. They are without doubt the best band to play at the club, (in my humble opinion). To rehearse for six hours shows so much commitment to playing live music. The audience really did respond to the energy, volume and musicianship. Can't wait for the next gig. Jeff

It's always a complete unknown as you face up to new venues and Pete Feenstra's latest find was another one of those......... wonder what it will be like? scenarios. Pete rarely puts a foot wrong as he meticulously researches new places to promote and launch, and quite often when I call him, he is out looking, and it is the sort of work that is unpaid and I imagine laborious at times. However I liken it to the old Gold Rush when suddenly a discovery is made and Bingo. Well he has done it again with the Beaverwood Club.
What a gem of a venue, with a flexible layout, with 2 bars and an owner who is prepared to listen to suggestions, and I think they are really onto a winner. Throw in a truly great band like The Mods and you have a corker of a night, and so it proved!!

Its not often I feel the compulsion to write a note good or bad. However on this occasion I’m going to make an exception. Don’t worry, it’s all good.
On Saturday 12th January myself and a few friends came to the Boom Boom Club to see Dirty D/C..(darn good band I have to say). This is by no means our first gist as there are not many places to go anymore that have decent live music, so thumbs up for that.
What I’m actually writing to you for is to sing the praises of your bar staff. Never before have I been to such a busy venue and been able to go to the bar on several occasions and get served straight away by polite, pleasant and very importantly smiling bar staff. Not only that, but on our return they even remembered our previous order.
There’s nothing more annoying than paying good money to see a band at a venue and then miss a lot of the act because of incompetent staff.
Yours are EXCEPTIONAL.
You should be very proud of your team headed up by (I believe if memory serves Steve). Please pass on my congratulations to him and the team.
Thank again for a really good (well deserved) evening.
Best Regards,
Karen Hitchman and Gill

Dear Pete,
I came to see Michael Shenker the other night , and I must say how good it was. Having seen Michael a few times before, (the good the bad and the ugly) the man was on top form as were the Friends. Thanks for the chance to see this genius at the top of his game, up close and personal and to shake his hand after was a real privilege, thank you very much

Schenker = God. I still can't quite believe that Michael was in such an intimate venue. I missed the signing session after the show, but Michael did sign my tour programs and stop for a photo just as he was getting into his car when he could have quite easily ignored us - WHAT A STAR. Cheers Pete for getting Neil and myself in at such short notice, the drive from Bedford was well worth it.

Great gig with Michael Schenker cheers for putting him on mate. It’s such a shame I turned up late, had loads of problems, but it was a dream come true to see him play, people don't realise how influential he
was on the development of modern rock. And well if I were you I’d try
and get him to play Whetstone as i am sure he may consider it as an
extra date as that place will fill up twice over !

Amazing stuff. I had heard he was unwell recently poor bloke, but shame
on the music industry if they let guys like him go to pot when they are
going through a bad time....the public is always there for him, and
well, great on you for getting him to play at Sutton.
All the best

Firstly - special thanks to Pete for this event for happening - absolutely brilliant, my favourite guitarist playing at a venue I had only played at 5 months previously with a band called MiRMiS.
Secondly lets cut to the chase Schenker was absolute quality!!! I counted 1 mistake in the entire gig, as a guitarist i thought it was different gravy, it was class of a different kind. His melodic soloing, riffing, interaction with audience was top notch, he was a machine (my cousin thought he was like the terminator) and a special word to the rest of the band, especially drummer Thomas Broman had more fills than John Bonham, and michael j fox lookalike Thomas Torberg - fantastic peformances. Michael Schenker is on top form at the moment circa 1978 or 1981, and guys and gals if you missed out this time around you are lucky 'cos he is hopefully back later this year, and after a brief chat with him hopefully natural thing will be in the setlist!!! Alrighhhtaaaa!!!!
